Migration ushers Lions Cricket into new era
Lions Cricket set out with the objective of refreshing their brand at the start of 2021 with the aim of building a strong platform for sustained commercial success and subsequent revenue streams in an increasingly competitive market.
Migration, a consulting and creative studio, in collaboration with their client, has taken great pride in launching and successfully executing Lions Cricket’s new brand proposition: #ThePrideOfJozi.
“Lions Cricket appointed Migration as its strategic marketing and commercial partner to assist with the development of future proof brand positioning, marketing and commercial strategy development,” said Wanele Mngomezulu, Head of Commercial, Marketing and Communications at Lions Cricket.
Business Director at Migration, Kira Louw, added: “Coming on board as Lions Cricket’s Marketing Agency has been such a meaningful journey. Watching the vision and strategy come alive over the past year has been truly transformative.
“Repositioning and unifying the brand and its key messaging has reignited the pride for our team, our stadium, our city and more importantly, our community.”
ThePrideOfJozi captures Lions Cricket’s desire to create fraternity with their fans, earn trust and loyalty, and set the foundation for maintained commercial growth through affiliation as the union sets out to enjoy a future illustrious as its past.
“We have been truly blessed by Shukri Toefy and the leadership of Migration and all of the people he has brought on board to really be our A-Team within Lions Cricket,” said Lions Cricket CEO, Jono Leaf-Wright.
“Overall, just good human beings which we’ve had the privilege and pleasure to deal with. Migration has been a huge blessing to Lions Cricket and the support and care they’ve given us has been brilliant and they are just true professionals from morning to night; nothing is ever too much.
“Migration has played such a significant role in moving the brand from point A to B, driving excellence and creating a prober sense of identity across every platform of Lions Cricket.”
Lions Cricket is now not only a winning team on the field of play, but a force off it. A team that resonates not only with cricket lovers, but with Jozi as a whole, and a team that is positioned to have global relevance.
“I can confidently say long term milestones were achieved beyond our imagination and plans. A great partner to have and looking forward to changing the landscape of cricket in South Africa,” Mngomezulu added.
Migration now looks forward to the next step with Lions Cricket which will include the commercial repositioning of the Imperial Wanderers Stadium, as together we continue to strive for sustained success outside the perimeters of the boundary rope.
